Summary The site collects minimal data: IP addresses from visits, emails for newsletters via AWeber, and anonymous performance metrics. All data stays on controlled servers, rotates after thirty days, and is never sold. You can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing [email protected].

We collect as little personal information as we can get away with, store it on infrastructure we control, and never sell it. The longer version is below.

What we collect

When you read. Our server logs your IP address, the page you requested, your user agent, and the referrer. These logs rotate after thirty days. We use them to fix bugs and to detect abuse. We do not share them.

When you subscribe. If you give us your email, we hand it to AWeber, our newsletter provider, along with the lead magnet you came in for ("confidence", "mindfulness", or both). AWeber stores your email under their own privacy terms. We see your email address and the date you subscribed. Nothing else.

When you fill a contact form. Whatever you write, we receive. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're a human; Cloudflare may set a cookie or read browser signals to make that decision. We don't get your IP from Turnstile.

Performance metrics. The site sends anonymous Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) to our own server so we can keep the pages fast. These measurements are aggregated; they don't identify you.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled. GA4 sets a cookie and records browsing patterns in aggregate. If you don't want this, install an ad blocker or use the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser — we honour it.

What we do with it

Send you the essays you signed up for. Notice when something is broken. Spot bots and abuse. That's it. We don't profile you, we don't run retargeting ads, and we don't sell, rent, or barter your data.

Where it lives

The site runs on a Linux server in the United States, fronted by Cloudflare. AWeber is in the United States. Google Analytics is in the United States. If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or anywhere with data-protection laws stricter than ours, that means your data is transferred internationally. We rely on the standard contractual clauses each provider publishes for that transfer.

How long we keep it

  • Server logs: 30 days, rolling.
  • Web Vitals samples: 30 days, then deleted by a cron job.
  • Newsletter subscriber data: until you unsubscribe, or you ask us to delete it.
  • Contact form messages: kept while the conversation is active, then archived for up to two years for reference.

Your rights

If you live somewhere with privacy law (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and so on), you have the right to ask us:

  • What data we hold about you.
  • To correct anything that's wrong.
  • To delete it ("right to be forgotten").
  • To export it in a machine-readable file ("data portability").
  • To stop using it for a specific purpose, including direct marketing.

To exercise any of these, write to [email protected] from the address you signed up with. We respond within thirty days.

Children

Our content is written for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under sixteen. If you're a parent and we have something we shouldn't, tell us and we'll delete it.

Cookies, in plain words

The cookies we set ourselves keep your session and remember whether you dismissed a banner. Third-party cookies come from Google Analytics (counts visits) and Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-bot). You can block them in your browser settings. The site still works without them.

Changes to this notice

If we change anything that matters — what we collect, who we share with, how long we keep it — we'll mention it in a newsletter rather than quietly amend this page in the dark. The date at the bottom is the last revision.

Contact

For privacy questions, requests, or anything else: [email protected]. We read every message.
