What we publish
The Art of Mastery is a small editorial publication run by Alakai Publishing. We write essays on emotional intelligence, communication, and contemplative practice. The work is editorial in nature — informed by research, but not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice. Use of the site
You can read everything here without an account. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we'll add you to a mailing list and may send you a free ebook. You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
You agree not to:
- Republish our essays in full on another site without written permission. Quoting up to 200 words with a link back is fine.
- Scrape the site for training datasets without checking llms.txt, our citation policy.
- Submit forms with false information, automated agents, or attempts to bypass rate limits.
- Reverse-engineer the site, probe for vulnerabilities, or use it to deliver malware.
Books and external links
When we link to a book, we may use an Amazon affiliate URL — the price you pay is the same, and we earn a small commission if you buy. We also link to external research, news, and reference sources. Those external sites have their own terms; we are not responsible for their content.
What you write to us
If you send us feedback, a question, or a pitch, you grant us permission to read it, file it, and reply. We won't publish what you sent without your explicit consent. Pitches sent to our editorial inbox follow the standards described on our About page.
Intellectual property
All essays, books, and original images belong to their authors and to Alakai Publishing. The brand, the typography, and the editorial design are ours. You may not reproduce them as your own.
The trademarks, logos, and book covers of third parties (Amazon, AWeber, Cloudflare, etc.) belong to their respective owners and appear here under fair use.
No warranty
We try to keep the site accurate, working, and secure. We don't promise it will be perfect, uninterrupted, or fit for a specific purpose. Use it at your own discretion. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Alakai Publishing is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
Changes
We may revise these terms when the site grows or the law changes. The version on this page is the one that applies. If we make a substantive change, we'll mention it in a newsletter rather than hide it.
